About the piece
Album for My Little Friends, a set of six pieces for children by Gabriel Pierne, including a Farandole and a Marche des petits soldats de plomb, the march of the little tin soldiers, which became widely popular on its own.
Pierne succeeded Cesar Franck as organist at Sainte-Clotilde in Paris and later conducted the Concerts Colonne, where in 1910 he directed the premiere of Stravinsky's Firebird.
