Twenty short pieces by Cornelius Gurlitt, a German composer who wrote a great deal of teaching music and whose collections remain fixtures of the piano studio. These pieces sit at the very beginning of a student's repertoire, deliberately plain in texture and clear in phrasing, offering the shape of real music at a level reachable within a student's first year or two.
