About the piece

Charge of the Hussars, by Fritz Spindler, one of the most reliably popular teaching pieces of its era and still occasionally assigned. Its appeal to young players is obvious: a galloping rhythm, an unambiguous picture, and a satisfying sense of speed achieved without genuinely difficult writing. Spindler produced over three hundred such works.
