An introduction and brilliant rondo, the standard concert form of the 1820s and 1830s: a free, dramatic opening followed by a fast, tuneful and technically showy finale.
Moscheles wrote many such works for his own performances during the years when he was among the most admired pianists in London, where he settled for two decades before Mendelssohn drew him to Leipzig.

Ignaz Moscheles
1794–1870
Isaac Ignaz Moscheles was a Bohemian piano virtuoso and composer. He was based initially in London and later in Leipzig, where he joined his friend and sometime pupil Felix Mendelssohn as professor of piano in the Conservatory.
