An arrangement for cello and piano of one of Couperin's harpsichord pieces, made by the French cellist Joseph Salmon in the early twentieth century. Salmon produced many such transcriptions during the revival of interest in French Baroque music, a movement that grew out of the same nationalist rediscovery of pre-Revolutionary French style that produced Debussy's and Ravel's homages to the period.
