About the piece
The thirteenth prelude is the most nocturne-like piece in the set, a serene song in F♯ major over a gently spread accompaniment.
Its central section slows further still, marked to be played more calmly, before the opening returns. In a cycle full of fragments and sudden gestures, this is one of the few preludes that unfolds at genuine length.

Frédéric Chopin
1810–1849
Frédéric François Chopin was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the early Romantic period who wrote primarily for solo piano. He has maintained worldwide renown as a leading composer of his era whose "poetic genius was based on a professional technique that was without equal in his generation".
