The twenty first prelude sets a broad, singing melody over a left hand that murmurs continuously beneath it, shifting the harmony under the tune in ways that keep the surface calm but the ground unsettled.
Marked cantabile, in a singing style, it is among the warmest pieces in the cycle and one of the least often singled out.

Frédéric Chopin

Frédéric François Chopin was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the early Romantic period who wrote primarily for solo piano.
