The second of Dussek's six easy sonatas, written for the amateur market in London, where he spent over a decade as a celebrated performer and teacher. He was reportedly the first pianist to turn the instrument sideways on the platform so that the audience could see his profile rather than his back, a piece of showmanship that earned him the nickname le beau visage and that every recitalist has followed since.
