About the piece
A set of waltzes by the composer generally regarded as the most significant Norwegian voice after Grieg, whose long shadow he never entirely escaped.
Sinding wrote prolifically across symphonies, concertos, chamber music and songs, and was well known across Germany and Scandinavia in his lifetime, though outside Norway his reputation rests almost wholly on a single piano piece.

Christian August Sinding was a Norwegian composer. He is best known for his lyrical work for piano Frühlingsrauschen. He was often compared to Edvard Grieg and regarded as his successor.
