Online collaborative music notation software.
About
Flat is a browser-based music notation editor for composing, editing, and publishing sheet music, designed around a simple interface paired with professional notation tools. It emphasizes intelligent note input and real-time collaboration so multiple people can write in the same score at once. Flat supports composing everything from solo tabs to chamber and ensemble scores, with customizable layouts, styles, and templates covering margins and spacing, staff sizing, measure numbers, and colored noteheads. It offers a large instrument library (180+ instruments, including high-quality studio sounds), advanced playback with adjustable part volumes and reverb, and the ability to upload reference audio from YouTube, SoundCloud, and MP3 files. Scores sync automatically across the web, iOS, and Android, offline editing is supported with later syncing, and the platform integrates with learning-management systems such as Google Classroom, Canvas, and Schoology. Users can also browse and explore a large community library of user-created scores. Flat is suited to composers, students, educators, and hobbyists who want to collaborate and work across devices. It is available via web browser and as iOS and Android apps. Pricing is freemium: a free tier covers basic use, while paid "Power" plans (subscription, with a one-time lifetime option) unlock unlimited scores, premium instruments, and advanced features.
