MakeMusic Cloud is a web-based music education platform for teachers and students, built on the long-running SmartMusic technology from which it evolved. It combines interactive sheet music, automated assessment, and instructional resources to support classroom and at-home music learning. The platform centers on a large, continuously growing catalog of over 10,000 interactive titles spanning method books, solos, ensembles, jazz, contemporary pop, and festival and state-list selections. Students can play along with interactive scores and check fingerings, while recorded assignments are automatically assessed for pitch and rhythm to give instant feedback and reduce manual grading time. It includes the standards-aligned Foundations Series curriculum and MusicProfessor video lessons for beginners, plus grade pass-back and integration with major learning management systems such as Google Classroom, Schoology, and Canvas. MakeMusic Cloud is designed mainly for school music programs—band, orchestra, and other ensembles—serving directors, teachers, and their students. Because it is web-based, it works across most internet-connected devices, including Windows and macOS computers, Chromebooks, iPads, and Android tablets and smartphones. It is offered as a subscription, with free individual and classroom trial periods available before purchase.
