Modacity is a music practice companion app for musicians of any instrument or genre, designed to organize practice sessions, keep them focused, and track progress over time. It is built around the concept of deliberate practice, helping users work efficiently toward their musical goals. The app bundles tools that musicians would otherwise gather from separate apps, including an audio recorder, metronome, tone/drone generator, tuner, and practice timer, alongside note-taking that can be displayed directly on the practice screen. Users can build practice playlists of items to work through, rate and prioritize them with a star system, and follow a guided deliberate-practice mode for high-priority pieces. It logs time spent and practice history, lets you compare past and recent recordings to hear improvement, and supports practice reminders. Modacity is aimed at students, hobbyists, and professional musicians who want more structured, accountable practice. It runs on Apple devices (iPhone, iPad, and Apple Silicon Macs and Vision) and on Android phones and tablets. It uses a freemium subscription model: core practicing is free, while a paid subscription unlocks full statistics, complete history, additional metronome/drone/tuner options, and unlimited notes, with scholarships and studio discounts available on request.
